Find the ‘sweet spot’ of client delight and business value

There are typically 2 possibilities for when product owners miss the sweet spot.


The investment is wrong:

  1. you spend money to fix the wrong part of the problem or

  2. you don’t have enough money to fix the problem The features have diminishing returns:

  1. you create features that the client doesn’t value

  2. the features do not add business value

  3. you may overspend on architecture when you are unsure if the client values the feature

When product owners hone their skills to assess the sweet spot then business sees increased returns as client satisfaction increases.
